Ideas for a woodland or forest

Hi All,

I am working on a college project and thought I would ask you guys for suggestions.

The scenario is not real of course but imagine this:

You own a large area of forest near a coastal tourist town. The forest is mostly filled with pine trees which are 15 years old. The land is flat and in some parts "on the hillside"

Apart from general forestry practises, what other aspects could your forest cover?

For example, Become an rspb nature reserve, become a Go Ape segway centre!, open up an arboretum.....

I am looking for the best idea which I will choose to research more information into.

Any suggestions anyone?

Please help me out, regards

Lee....

I like the sound of a bushcraft centre. I suppose this could cover a huge range of activities. Thanks guys, please keep the suggestions coming.

I want to choose something different as I know others will just stick to planting a tree nursery or open it to the public!

Increase the biodiversity. Fell an area and replant with native broadleaf, create a couple of ponds, look at rides, glades and different levels of vegetation. Recommend a habitat survey, enhancement and ecological conservation methods.

Wildlife walks, pond dipping for schools, volunteer days for locals....
