Hurrah!

Found a suitable beast... 1988 2.5TD (cheaper to insure than a 200). Have some plans for it, nothing silly - a musical playing device, new headlining and acoustic carpeting, some nice mud/all terrains and a roofrack for the canoe. Paint job (Keswick Green) to come in summer I hope!

HI SAM looks good mate well done there jon

Cheers John, at the price I paid (touch lots and lots and lots of wood) it could be a steal. Engine has only got 70k on the clock, one owner since new, and enthusiast who used it to walk the dogs and the odd greenlane. Paint needs tidying up though!

That looks a very nice landy for its age. Not many like that around.

TBH, I wouldnt touch the paint, its authentic and doesnt look out of place. Sounds like you appreciate its origionality, so would the next owner:thumbup1:

That does look a nice truck Sam. I'd agree with Pete - keep it fairly original and unmolested.

Only other thing I'd be half tempted to do would be to keep an eye out for a good (defender) 200 tdi engine for when the current TD engine lets go :001_smile:

Save the money and get some good quality cleaning stuff for it, anything by auto glym. Get a clay stick and use that. Or find a car detailing company an get them to do it. Would look good when it's done.
