I think it's all about will power and personality...a lot of people I know use drink as a personality builder and to gain confidence...which is fine if you can control it..I really think it's a bit odd to give up something that you really injoyed having and to stop altogether..I know everyone is different but I will never understand why someone has to get completely off there head when they have a drink and not even remember what they did..my dad was a drunk and there is nothing worse then seeing your dad talking bollocks, slapping your mom about and all the crap what go's with a grown man being drunk. I wouldn't say it had an effect on me cause I like a drink but I know my limits and perhaps I,am lucky and can stop at 4 or 5 pints then go on water, strange but that's how I have always been and I wouldn't For on minute try and imagine what it must like not to be able to stop when you need to.bit heavy and I don't want to open up a can of worms about drink..just wanted to say that a little bit of what you like and or fancy is ok..life has to be about having things you like....???

And well put Wayne. Everything in moderation. Sadly there are some of that can't seem to moderate whatever we do and it's a case of all or nothing. sadly I am one.

It's like most things. If you devote a significant amount of your time to something, it becomes part of your life. It's up to you to decide what you want in your life. It's not easy, but the best things aren't easy.

Great response lads, appreciate it...Certain people should steer clear of Alcohol and i am one of them.Simple as that.It wouldn't fit into my lifestyle theae days anyway.Since i reset my life between November when i started at the Gym and New years eve when i tool my last drink i have never had to recover from anything.I feel exactly the same every morning only a bit stronger.

If your happy Richie Rich that's fine,,,,but whenever I ask you if you want to go have a drink after work and you can't just in case the demonds arise that to me is pretty sad,,,,we miss so many opportunities to chill after a hard days graft and the social side is always something that bonds a friendship...this is my whole point about not being to scared to have a drink..it doesn't have to be a drink feast and get rat ******...these lovely summer nights having a couple of drinks be it cider, shandy or whatever is a great way to finish any working day...like has been said before..we are only here for a short time,,,so make friends,be happy and have what you want when you want without any agenda..i.e..to get slaughtered just because you can.
