Hi Silky, Its really nice to see that you went to Stourhead, I live about 2 miles from there and practically grew up there, My family have had a lot to do with the place over the years and my father in law is the head ranger of the estate. He, along with my dad are in my avatar having just felled the tallest tree in the gardens a few years ago. Wish I knew you were going as I would have given you a pretty good guided tour. Any way Love the thread.

Lewis

Really touched by all the comments paul and you are always more than welcome down here with our family. Harper is desperate to see the thread but unfortunatey she will have to wait until tomorrow now. I will sort a couple of days work for in a month or two and then we can visit the tisbury yew tree and the yew woodland near hod hill.

Make it so!...6 weeks time would be good or there abouts. Great Avatar Marc! That tractor has some power to shift all that timber on two wheel drive. Did you say he built the trailer from an old articulated?.....Lewis,very interesting to hear that your Father is the Head man there...A very special place...next time i,m down there meet me and Marc and Jamie up at the Antelope and we can arrange a tour around the place yeah?:001_smile: What about a reccy climb??:001_rolleyes: In your Avatar how tall was the tree? largest on the estate did you say?

Thunderbird 4 Review:lol: i really ,really like this free gift from ApBell..it will be of great use as a Chargehand/foreman helmet in a role i have decided i should like to carve out for myself...it,s the right colour and i am completely taken by the Thunderbird 4 on the back:thumbup: it is FAR more comfortable than a Petzel Vertex Vent and the homemade headband reinforcment is comfortable if a bit Smelly:lol: tommorow it gets a jetwash and the headband and sponge from the ear defenders are going in the wash...but apart from that i am delighted with it! I have personalised it with a Teufelberger sticker on the front....Thanks again....:001_smile:

Yeah for sure. Not sure about the climb though with being national trust and all. Yeah it was the tallest but u can't remember how tall. It's my in law who is the main man and my dad used to do all the big felling on the estate along with many others.
