Do websites really pull in work? my old website is down, but i've had a website for years and i'm not convinced they pull in that much work

I moniter all my calls, and i've never had a client say to me your website attracted me to your company.

I dont think they pull in much work. I do think they have their uses though, such as an accessible portfolio for potential clients to view after the initial contact but before comitting to a contract.

i agree. i think it looks good to be able to say you have one too on biz cards and bills etc.; and is fairly cheap.

 

Also; i think as a portfolio; you can take stuff ya write and pix from forums and maybe get something out of it; have it all in a collected place; and thereby have more reason to have quality input to forums. i think topics come up that you might have thoughts on etc, that you just wouldn't think about sitting down and writing. So, the forums become that idea generator.

 

Also, it is becoming cheaper and cheaper all the time to do this, and more and more people are using web to find services. This leads us to learning to assemble it right; to get higher ranking pages. On a wide scale this would be tougher. But, if there are 100 tree services in your area, and 10 have sites; and 2 really try to work the SEO, you shouldbe able to be found if someone searches for tree service yourtown?

Q. How many people remember the telephone number from a truck or advertising board?

 

A. Not any although always have them on there....They are more likely to remember your company name or website.

My website address is also easy to remember http://www.trees247.co.uk

 

A website is no good unless people can find it. Use a good search engine....if you don't come up on the first couple of pages....they will get bored.

 

My Brother made my site which cost me £250 a year ........Paid for itself in a couple of jobs easy.

i've had some very good feedback from my website...wether or not its winning jobs is yet to be seen
