Out of interest, why? I've always used ultra O under hitch climber, this is the first rhino I've used (brand new along with rope). I was going to use it on the end, just because my previous ISC krabs I did have misalign once or twice on top hole...

The Rhino was developed to align the eyes of your hitch cord to stop them moving down the spine of your crab. By having the single eye of your lanyard on the Rhino, it's wasted and your e2e can still move on the ultra o.

I've always used my hitch climber with a petzl O shaped krau. May have to change it and see if it makes much difference :)

Just washed my ropes as all I've been climbing recently is pines, firs erc and theh were covered in sap making life HARD work to say the least! Hoping to get a zigzag soon then I'll swap my hitch climber onto my lanyard as at the moment I just run a standard prussik.

What knots do you tie on the ends of yours without spliced eyes?

Thanks for the info Tommy, to be honest I've never had a problem with the eye to eye moving on the ultra O. I do use my lanyard off my bridge most of the time, and with my previous krab I was finding it would occasionally misalign in the top hole of HC, hence why I got a rhino. Not sure if it will work or not yet, will report back ;)

Butch, I use a double fisherman's knot on the ends

We used that knot called a chain sinnet to shorten lengths of rope to dry after use in the RM. it’s ‘the’ most effective method and one handed to open.
