I've just been on the EA website and gone through 'Do I need a WCL' bit and apparently arbs don't need a WCL until Jan 2014. I think this is opposite to what Rupe said above. I think Rupe has probably looked into this a bit more than me so keen to follow up on this exemption. Now I'm confused, if I need one i will get one if not I've got better things to spend my money on.

 

Anyone got anymore info on exemptions etc?

I have had similar argument with my local ea officer. Logs and woodchip taken from a job are considered a waste product, even if you argue that you are selling it on.all local tree contractors round here wont get local authority work without a licence, and cannot dispose waste without one. For the sake of 115 or so for three years, if it saves a huge fine, its worth it.
