started off with elton 10 years ago, then i would buy themost expensive. wore aquafell for 3 years. went through 4 pairs. the sole is crap and the roller ball shoe lace things kept coming off. Back wearing elton boots 80quid excellent all round boot.

My meindl air streams arrived yesterday and they look like really really well made boots and they are not as red as i thought they were going to be! a damn site lighter than my newly retired klima airs too.

mine are over 4 yrs old now and if i resoled them they would last at least 2 more but i thought id try something different.

Haix Trekker Mountain for me.

 

Very comfy, warm and waterproof. Expensive, mind.

 

I don't think you can expect more than a couple of years out of any boots if you climb a lot.

 

Tips - don't wear them when you don't need them, Cats etc. are much cheaper for hedgecutting, black saw jobs etc.

 

Don't try and kick small stumps out with them. This proved very expensive!

 

Do clean them and treat the leather now and again.
