Silver sides are newer and slightly more powerful

They are still producing the 46cc for certain markets I think. Don't quote me on that. Think I heard it somewhere.

Also 46cc ( orange ) has no decomp or primer bulb and 50cc ( silver ) does have both .

My 346 NE has no decomp button. It's been fully woods ported, so has about 180# compression, but doesn't need the button. Best small saw I've ever used.

 

I saw this thread last night, but came here again via a search, looking for feedback on the new replacement for the awesome 346, which is the 550. I thought I'd seen some talk here about it.Dunno w hen it's going to be released here in the US of Eh.....

 

By the way, I've had two of the ported 46 cc model, which also scream. All are close to 50% faster than the stocker saw. Less torque than the NE, as others have noted.
