In 8 days? Wow, that's a long way! I'd better keep up with the training then....

I got one of these to replace my go-anywhere touring mtb.

Much easier on roads and generally a lot faster:thumbup:

Really nice looking machine

Always think the Genesis bikes are well designed for real world cycling.

Just got marathon place confirmed for London in April !!!!!!

Time to start training !! Going to be hard work - bricking it !

Not sure where to fit training in with firewood and a full time job. Think it's going to hurt !!

Nice one

Did it back in 1998. Can't say I trained that much as day to day work keeps the fitness up but yes it's probably going to hurt

Been away on holiday and read a great book. Ultra marathon man confessions of an all night runner by dean karnazes. A great and inspiring read, really want to step up my trail running and mountain biking miles. See if I get through winter with limited injuries but fancy doing "the wall" a ratrace organised challenge running hadrians wall from Carlisle to Newcastle 69miles over two days or one day if your nuts

Ahh i saw the ad for that. Fancy the london to edinburgh bike ride.

Here we are then. The challenge is 52 half marathons in the 52 weeks of 2014. It'll be a half on the weekend and then a 3 and a 4 in the week to keep the legs working. Thats gonna end up being 1000 miles. Im gonna post on an event every week so people can run with me if they want. All in the name of raising money for Parkinsons UK. So if anyone fancies a look out just keep your eyes on the facebook page.

Well hello chaps. Been a while. New house and all that. Well since i was last on i have done 2 minor events both dirtruns and signing up for loads.

Am going to attempt a sprint marathon too!

Flat out using my turbo trainer 3-4 times a week. Hour yesterday. 1.5 today. Dropped half a stone since christmas.

Rupe are you doing icebreaker?

Turbo's are brilliant, been using mine for the last ten day's and when I went out yesterday my legs didn't wanna stop spinning. I've got a mate that does four hours at a time on the turbo. I like turbo's but not that much.....
