Found out this week just how tough the 242's really are - saw one after it had been ran over with a teleporter and other than a broken chainbrake handle, a bit of a twist to the front handle and a cracked sidecover it still ran fine :thumbup1:

Absofigginlutely Do not scrap that saw .......

Long left the scrapping idea behind 18 months ago, this is an old post I have re-opened

Does anyone (spud?) know where to source some gaskets for this saw? I have taken it apart but the cylinder bottom gasket is in poor shape, wonder if its worth replacing the inlet and exhaust ports too?

Cheers

A husky dealer would be a start, but cylinder base gaskets could be replaced with a liquid gasket sealant

Ok so more than 5 years on from the first post on here I have decided to sell this 242xp as I simply do not have the time to do anything with it. It's currently in pieces in a box.

Does anyone on this post who commented about not scrapping it want to offer to buy it?

Located Cranbrook, Kent. Pick up preferable but may consider sending it but do not know how much it'll be yet.

I'll get some pictures this week coming.

I am not sure that TCD is too likely to respond unfortunately,  but I would put myself into the ring and declare an interest as I am an old git with rose tinted specs of  happy-go-lucky times past.

If you can get happy snappin', that would be great.
