We were comparing the oregon one and husky one's today and decided the hook on a husky digs in better; the oregon one sometimes takes a bit of getting to dig in, especially on the Ash and Sycamore today.

Yep, bent that just trying to get a larch down (18" dbh, 70'). I wasn't pulling sideways either just that's the way it yielded during the failure at my hands!

Try pm'ing rupe. I have a feeling he used to have one. he may still have it and be prepared to sell it.....I think it was a bit too manly for him

I did prorotype some felling levers some years back....the first couple worked great, and then I messed with the design too much resulting in a bunch that just weren't very good at all, so much so that I scrapped the idea. I dont know what you have there Dave as I dont recall passing any of those things on, other than a couple I gave away to retailers....but if it is infact a great big heavy thing that turns sideways in the cut then forget it mate because its junk.

 

Felling levers in general are not really much use for felling trees of any size. You can achieve 20 times more with a bunch of wedges and an axe.
