Large Fir tree dismantle using a speedline

Hey guys,

This is a video filmed mainly from my helmet cam of a large Fir tree removal on a steep bank. It was just me and 1 groundsman so decided to rig it down using a speed line to save the groundsman climbing up the bank to retrieve each branch and to knock off a few extra feet from dragging those big heavy fir limbs.

Location : Vancouver, Canada

Tibloc on the spliced end side of the rope, with karabiner attched which holds the pulley under the prussik.

Simple set up, similare to using a small prussik on that side holding a pulley under the hitch.

Nicely made video, I like the non controlled speedline set ups, a bit like a vertical speedline but not quite vertical, just enough to shift the debris away from the base. Good stuff!!
