my groundie is a one off for sure, but people shouldnt be put off cuz of age. ive had plenty of young groundies who were more interested in their mobile phones then hard work. i find stockers08 remarks a little condersending to be honest, but im not looking for an argument guys

Wake up and grow up! Now that,s condersending

Ageed there khriss, if you can get on to a larger company you will probably get your tickets a bit quicker, is EDF your local electrical company there if so, get a look for any jobs either with Fountains, BTS or Brockwells as they are starting new contracts on line clearance for EDF.

Not the best of work at times, but present economic climate probably the safest.

Good luck

P.s, best of luck btw, after i passed my saw certs many moons ago it took me ages to get a job. I got hold of the AA approved contractors list and nearly wrote to all of them. Most replied the same....."need experience, blah, blah, blah." In the end i ended up moving from staffordshire to surrey for my first job. God, did i ever blunt all his saws......

My Dad got into forestry/arb in his 50's, and worked til he died at 66, he could drag and chip all day long, at a decent pace, and was still draggng and chipping when others (youngsters) were worn out. He was a sales rep most of his life until he started tree work. So, given his fine example, I would think it perfectly feasible for you to make a transition, Paradise, so go for it!!:001_smile:
