The boat can carry 2 woman at a time and 1 man at a time.

 

How can they all get to the island?

the two women sal over, 1 sails back. 1 man sails over, the other woman sails back, the two women sail back over, one sail back,, the other man sails over, and then the other woman sails back to get the woman

2 woman sail across 1 gets out. Other woman sails back gets out bloke takes it to the island. Woman gets in and collects other woman who is dropped off at the island. The woman sails back gets out an bloke goes to the island, woman gets in an collects other woman and back to the island.

Does that make sense?

Trip Two: One woman stays in the boat and goes back to collect the other man, returns to the island, job done.

It doesn't state that the women and men can't go at the same time, it just says two women at a time and one man at a time, you can therefore take two women and one man, i think.
