I've not heard anything back from my dealer today which means that Stihl haven't got back to him!

Does anyone else know of this problem happening with other Stihl saws? And is it only the newer versions ofthe 660 this is happening to?

Cheers :)

I was using my saw the other day ringing up a horse chestnut (36"Bar) Chain brake worked fine whilst saw still reasonably cold but once hot the plastic became quite pliable. Sent saw back to dealer and It's been recalled for further tests.

It's the first case my dealer's heard of.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Saw was bought In Dec 2011

Our 660 has a problem with the chain brake. Can't have been used more that 100 hours although it's about 5 years old. Seems like the plastic has gone soft. Doesn't matter whether hot or cold. Guess I am left out of warranty
