Most relivant work out to climbers?

Skipping sounds like a plan, Ive done a little and arms burn like hell.

I understand the power to weight ratio thing, but i think im just going to be a heavy person, im 6 3" and 13 and half stone. But only got a 30 inch waist.

I do climb in my spare time. I like to get a top anchor in wiz down to the bottom and then prussik up and time it. That kills me after a few times

Does anyone do alot of benching and benifit?

Arran

not the best thing ever for your knees but footlocking is a good all body workout.

Foot locking is a mugs game but I cannot argue its an intense work out.

I got to agree with Rupemgetting your self flexible and supple with the strength to maintain a position yoga is good for this.

You won't go wrong with skipping it is awesome exercise.

Benching is good but depends what you want to train for. If its just to perform better up a tree than press-ups are enough to keep you in shape and build strength. I'd only worry about doing benching seriously if you actually want to get big/particularly strong.

And stretching as Rupe says, though I should practice what I preach because I don't stretch enough and I suffer for it.

To make life easier... Lose a few kilo's.... If you already work fairly hard there is not much point adding more strenuous exercise into the mix.... recovery time would increase and you may end up knackered at work until you build up the resistance.

I love swimming....

As many have said, just climb/work (push yourself when you start flagging) its gets you work fit... Gyms and set works outs mentally I just can't hack. They bore me.

But swimming considering how tough on our joints Our work is its a great way of getting your stamina up and giving you a good cardio work out with minimal impact on your joints. I don't run cause it kills my knees but I can swim for hours....

But I really found pushing myself at work, getting the RRAAWWRRR mentality, and really push yourself at work does wonders.

Yoga, or just stetching, doesnt have to be yoga which pretends to be more than just stretching, but good yoga is probably the best form of correct and intense stretching

Good advice, stretches realy help, ive noticed a tightening of my major tendons in recent years and it stops me reaching at times (legs)
