Hort Week, was telling all, short supply (due to Danish govt change in subsidy) and price increases of at least 15%.

 

Our local Christmas tree man, cut his wholesale order from 20,000 to 10,000 mainly due his perception that the recession would result in less demand and people would not pay the extra.

got a pot grown 5 foot norway for 22 quid.... usually a bit dubious about ones that claim to be pot grown, but think this one is cos its about ready for re-potting.

i am cutting for a chap at bramhope he charges £3 per ft for n/s and the same for the n.( non drip as he calls them) at my local garden center its 4-5 ft £30 5-6 ft £35 6-7ft £40 dave

the parents tried to talk the family inot a plastic tree this year saying, it doesnt drop and doesnt make a difference. I am proud to say i soon put a stop to this and will be colecting the real tree this week

I spent 5 years looking after and harvesting crimbo trees, when you know what they cost and you see them for sale at such highly inflated prices it just brings it home that christmas is about trying to part people with as much cash as possible:thumbdown:
