Mine are tested and looked after by Technique Engineering, Billingshurst, West Sussex if anyone in the SE is looking for Tirfor/ Tractel/ Greifzug lovin'

:thumbup1: Nice bunch of guys, they don't seem to mind grubby tree types turning up with well worked old bits of kit......

Took mine to be serviced in Cornwall and cost about £75-00 as there were a couple of bits to replace... well worth it to get them serviced by someone who knows what they're doing IMO. Just call around engineering type firms...

Hi all,

wondering if anyone can help, i have a t532 tirfor and need some assistance.

the yellow clutch doesn't seem to release the jaws.

this means every time you need to attach a log, you have to take up the slack through the winch - by hand! yes, what is normally a physical workout has turned into a army boot camp.

the model was made before the little yellow safety release catch on the side of the machine was introduced.

so, does anyone have a diagram or picture of the inside workings or any manuals that are a bit more in depth than just operating procedure etc?

would be grateful for any help on this one before the arthritis kicks in!

regards

jon

Can anyone (Treewolf perhaps if you're still here) tell me what this is and if it's likely to be useful?

CABLE BLOCK for Tifor Tractel Habegger Winch Puller on eBay (end time 17-Dec-10 19:48:59 GMT)

Cheers,

Jon

Maybe it's a bit like the old Trewhella clamps that can be used to shorten or lock off steel cable at a specific point- a bit like setting a prussik loop on a rope to give you an anchorage at a particular point.

Got you - thanks. The way I found it was searching the Bay for 'snatch block': could it be used like one for doubling up your pull?

Cheers,

Jon

Get in touch with Tractel in Sheffield (here's a link to their website Homepage ) and ask them for the details of your nearest dealer. They were very helpful when I did this.

Hope this helps.

I went direct as we are in the area and purchased some spares and a new cable. Nice people:thumbup1:
