Don't want to go over old ground so will get to the point. I run my 390 with a 28" bar 3/8 pitch and an 8 pin powermate rim . I run my aging 373 on a 24" bar 3/8 pitch and an 8 pin rim . I used to run my 357 on an 18" .325 pitch and an 8 pin rim . All with no protest at all . A 560 does not like it . It should be able to cos a 357 can . The only thing here that is different is auto tune ! Does anyone else think that auto tune stops you getting the full potential out of a saw ?

Agreed . Apparently there is more pollution generated in the manufacture of a cat than a cat absorbs when in use .

The more I hear of this auto tune the less I am liking it. I know someone with the new 560 and it just sounds like a burst ball.

 

Yea I got 2 of them . Fantastic saw when its running , can't be beat in the class , just needs a carb with twiddely bits to sort it . They plugged mine in to a pc and they told me how many hours it had run flat out and how many mins it had idled for ! I mean who gives one ?

I personally would buy another I think it's great and the saw feels so much better in the cut.

Better imissions.. I am intrigued about why you think running different bars and chain pitch should make a difference, does it work fine with 3/25 ?? . Maybe soon I will find out as I will convert my 560 to 3/8 when I have worn out the two 3/25 chains I have for it.

Like it or not in 5 years all saws will probably be auto tune.

What I was clumsily trying to say is that I have/do run some of my saws with a higher gearing i.e. 8 pin rim instead of standard 7 pin . This gives a faster chain speed and as long as the bar length is not stupid they all cope fine . a 560, much as I love it won't . The out going 357 will cope . there fore , on paper , the 560 should cope . I think its the auto tune stepping in to prevent it . I think this as its the only one with auto tune .

Its had a remap . its had a 2012 carb ( 2011 saw ) Its had the hotter plug fitted . I put the rim back to a 7 pin and its fine now . I still think it should be able to ruin an 8 pin though .
