Mountain bikes

Hi the cycle to work scheme starts at my place soon just wondering if anyone can recommend a decent bike as I haven't a clue ??

Depends on you build and how you like to ride, road bike or mountain bike.

 

Will you need a trailer to carry all the gear in, not sure how your going to tow a chipper though

 

I got and old trike my 4 yr old doesn't use anymore.

 

 

 

Seriously depends on what you like and what is comfy. Halfords are expensive and I would go to a small bike shop and have a chat. They should be able to sort you a nice bike to meet your needs.

I looked at that scheme last year and it was a crock.

 

Would have cost me a lot more than i paid for my decent second-hand bike in the end.

It's like anything you get what you pay for. Think it used to allow u a grand for a bike and you paid back about half or somethin. Decide what u want it for no point getting a road bike if you want comfort, there's loads of good makes, my fave is Gt, have a look at evans online will give u an idea

Evans will hardly be beaten on price, for sure, and were pretty friendly and helpful on the phone.

Mine should have been 1k but specced up forks,chain set and few other bits which came to 1400-my total payments were only about £800 tho.

Just take advantage of their price match. Like looking on Chain Reaction Cycles. Price match allows you to get the discount if collecting aswell. Saved me a fair bit on parts for my mountain bike.
