Just been watching the budget and interested to see what the arb talk community think??

 

glad i dont smoke 37p per packet as of midnight!

 

Alcohol to remain the same price...

 

richer get taxed more... etc etc...

 

no doubt the fuel will be the main talking point here?

I think to boost the economy, the condition of a lower tax for the rich should be that they have to use the spare cash to spend on tree surgeons, gardeners, landscapers etc.

Sadly not. It's just that the tax rises won't be any higher than originally planned. That's 2% above inflation, so about 5p a pint.

 

One point that may help some on Arbtalk though, if it comes to anything, is the planned simplification of taxes for companies turning over less than £77k.
