The thing is if your council finds out you shopped them they will avoid using you ever in future.

If the company finds out you a competitor shopped them, well you might end up getting harassed.

It should be reported but use tact.

what do you suggest to do then?

My council would rather hear about poor tree work, why would they not employ him ever in the future? Wasting tax payers money on **** work is something they'd like to know about - reporting it because you take pride in your own work as a craftsman might is nothing to shy away from.

thing is we dont need l/a work we got plenty of private and trust work to keep us busy for good long time so got nothing to lose face over. dont mind if a dont get a christmas card fae him. for the good of craftmanship and the world of arboriculture am going to email these pics to the L/A and see what response aye get depending on what they have to say about the matter.aye think my local paper might find it an interesting story to put forward to the public to see what kind of work thier money is paying for

It sounded like you would shop the LA to the press surely you see why that would piss them off.

But in your last post you suggested you would contact the LA privately which is called using tact.

But it should be reported just remember how you would take it if another company accused you of shoddy work without proof. Did you see the surgeon who made the cuts thats the person to blame.

They could have slipped etc rule out reason before

there was some suggestions about the boss of the company in question "checking" the work after it was completed. What exactly can any suggest could have been done to rectify this abortion?? Its not like 12 inch stubs being left, where you could clean them up. BUT, in my opinion, (which doesnt count for much) anyone let loose up a tree, with a chainsaw, should have a strong passion for what they are doing. The cuts in the pictures look like they were made by someone in a rush to get to the bank to cash the council cheque. Knowing full well that nothing would be done, and the would be no reprocussions, WELL THIS NEEDS TO STOP. IM ANGRY NOW.

surely to use a chainsaw from rope and harness you get taught how to make a final pruning cut?????
