Another DIY logsplitter question

low and level, ill try and get a pic of mine on here, i used 2 inch thick wear plate off the bucket of a 30 ton quarry digger, got it milled to a point and housed it in a massive rsj expensive and hard work but i can split 2 feet deep timber and regularly load mine with a forklift, make it self loading too oh and have a table to catch what you split save your back... ill post a pic but i put a viper crane on it since and changed the drawbar to a permanent one....

My home made one, foot pedal operated so both hand free to move timber, auto cycles so no wasted time holding handles. Now has a log lift on the right hand side for big bits, but wish i'd put a crane/winch on it so i could have just dragged the timber to it instead of rolling it! But still can when i get the urge!!

 

Keep you ram close to the beam to save leverage as said before, i've just got a mild steel wedge, and it ain't got blunt yet. Hope it helps!:001_smile:
