I have lost two stone recently and was shocked at just how out of proportion a tree mans body is. I have super strong arms and back but very weak chest, stomach and legs ? I used to have a cracking set of boobs (-:

How Have you lost the weight Deano? Eating better/excercise?

I just cut sugar out of my tea and stopped eating crap, the only excercise I have been doing is squats and holding in the squat position to increase my stamina for skiing. Apparently this burns massive amounts of calories because of the large muscle groups involved

being new to this- does that explain why most gym machines work legs more than arms- other than weights (bench presses etc)

In that case can I ask what the biggest muscle in the body is and whats the best way to exercise it

No kidding- I need to lose weight- always got on the bike in the past but is there a better way

There is an exceptionally simple way to lose weight...

Use more calories than you take in.

Rich is right....

We as tree workers already burn massive amounts of calories, all we need to do really is cut out the crap we eat and reduce the calorie intake.

Problem is, the body uses sugar as an energy source before it uses fat. So if you are eating lots of sugary things and fat, the body will use the sugar and store the fat.

Cut out the sugar and you will burn the fat. The other problem is fat is slow release, so you will feel lethargic and wasted and feel as if you need a sugar hit, just resist it and power on

Mark, a serious question.

What is your motivation for traning, to get fit? Strong? Look good? Or is it Conan ........

To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women.

Cakes rule:thumbup:

That's the one.

Seriously, the stronger I get the easier time I have at work.

Looking good would be good too but it's irrelevant when you are a squinty-eyed balding short-arse like me!
