I'm enjoying my Epson TW680 projector. 55Inch screen area on the wall, old fashioned Linn stereo speakers either side. I'm not a fan of surround sound.

Rupe, I've never heard of this screen paint, I'm projecting onto white emulsion. picture quality is great. I do not like HD for movies, think it makes everything look like US TV. I like the look of light passing through celluloid as much as possible. I will check out the paint though. Yep, I love home cinema too. Hate big TVs bad picture ugly box.

I'm pretty sure there is some special paint, but if emulsion works thats fine.

I agree about HD for films. Not really worth it. My blu ray player might go on e bay! the discs are expensive and while the technology is impressive it adds nothing to the enjoyability of a good film.

My recent recomendations would be

Tell no One. (french thriller, subtitles)

Death Proof/Planet Terror (for old school B-movie style, definatly no need for HD.)

All great films. I thought despite the greater degree of `grindhouse' in Planet terror, that death proof was a better film. Very knowing filmmaking as you'd expect from a very knowing director.

I found the Paint. Its very expensive. I might do it if I ever get a dedicated room. thanks for the tip. I saw `hard eight' last week for the first time. Excellent and definately better than `there will be blood'
