Combination of not making an undercut, and holding on to the saw made that situation near-fatal.

 

And I don't see the point of grabbing the trunk.

Utter stupidity and no communication between ground worker and claw operator. I have seen this many times over the years and people get into a hurry and don't care about what is happening or who gets hurt or killed in the process.

a slow cut would have seen it opening up and then let the grab break the remaining, no need for this at all, no helmet noe ear defenders, no balistics!
