Truck wash.

Washed my truck yesterday for the first time in ages and the results were pretty disappointing. There are loads of baked on sap spots and grime all over it that scrubbing with a brush and shampoo or pressure-washing won't shift.

 

Can anyone recommend a product that will help 'dissolve' organic matter, but not kill paintwork?

Try 'Mer' available at halfords. Can be used neat as a polish/cleaner or diluted

Find a local rep because you will get a better deal.

Probably make it yourself- boil up a log of the stuff maybe

Had lime sap on my L200 when I brought it - took T-cut to remove it.

MER, Autosmart and T-cut are good products, but a bit of TFR - Traffic Film Remover should do the trick.

Its available from most car products outlets, it has a small amnount of acid or similiar to help shift the stubborn stuff. Cuts thru just about anything anf removes caked on brake dust etc

Mark, TFR (TRAFFIC FILM REMOVER) is great stuff but not sure where you would get it?

WD40 will get sap off paint.
