Advice please

Hi, I have been asked for a quote on this one. The options are felling or reduce it. Will this pine have a future after a serious reduction ? I never done one like this. The reason is because it is blocking the view from the appartments ; this is 4 stories so the tree is a big one....

That would be a shocker reducing that imo..What a lovely conifer. If it has to go then i suppose needs must but i would not put my name against reducing that

It would be difficult to make a reduction on that tree look good. Fell+ replant. Shame though!

naah......gradual crown lift, thin, retain leader and aim for the flat topped specimen it would happily reach anyway - could be several years repeat work on that one!

 

its not a pine. what is it? cedrus? actually it could be cypressy.......hmmm i wonder who'll be along to set me straight.....

I could shrink this cedar, you would know it had been worked but like the one in Clarendon road I did about 7 years ago, now has a new habit/shape and is a specimen to admire. It was wide and gangly dropped a limb in the winds one autumn on the office block roof.

 

Its a stunning tree now, and everytime I drive past it I feel a great sense of pride, nobody has felt the need to molest it since, its holding its habit new so well, more slender and long cone shaped.
