I dislike planning people as often dishonest actions and harass small business. I would tell the council he has offered to purchase at a low price and when this did not work complained to close down the business.

 

UN/ISO Shipping Containers are portable in law and do not need planning permission unlike old truck bodies/boxes. Tape record/video future conversations without them knowing as it will help!!

How do you know it’s a low offer? An offer is just that, it’s a starting point in a negotiation, it matters not if the offer was 45K or £45, the complaint will be investigated and acted on or not depending on the outcome.

 

The investigation could be a very good thing, once it has run its course (provided no action is taken) the price negotiation takes on a whole new aspect.

I had a similar issue with containers. They said I needed to submit an application for them to determine whether I needed planning permission. I felt this was like extortion but left it (in writing) that I would be happy to submit an application if they could provide me with a copy of the "rules" which specifically state such an application is required. Never heard anything more.

 

I do believe that if services are connected (electric or water) then they have a better case for planning as it is deemed no longer temporary.

Marko makes a good point, a carefully worded letter which requires the PO to actually produce some evidence in writing that they are acting properly normally does wonders.

Council employees don't want to be noticed, once their names start coming up in dispatches that the public are asking questions about their conduct and competency, things can go bad for them. They will go after something if they think it will help them justify their existence, but if they think it might jeopardise their credibility and by extension, employability, they soon cool off.

 

Research what he's said and try it, might see an end to it.

Because he said was offered £45,000 and places are like Rocking Horse Poo so logic means too little as sites rare.:laugh1:

 

Should be worth at least several times more than original price offered and with an "Uplift/Clawback" clause in case he goes for planning permission with new homes.:001_rolleyes:

Wodpicker, apply for outline planning for housing yourself. That will smoke him out. If passed it will definitely jack up the asking price. While your app is being considered it should also throw the jobsworths of the scent....string it out.
