If you can get a pull rope round it and pull it away from the lines you might not need to turn the power off. But you still need to inform the power company they will prob send someone out when you do it if it can be done live.

 

Sounds like a good way to kill the guy pulling the rope :001_huh:

If you have to ask the question "if a branch hits the lines will it kill me?" then get the power off or at least some advice from a qualified guy who's looked at the job. Murphy's law always applies when you least expect it.

It is one of the methods used. aslong as the branches are out of the vz. and in that case its 2m. You use a rope with a friction hitch so it cant go back on its self.

If the branch is not in the VZ why would it need pulling away from the wires???

 

I'm not having a go, but its not a good idea to give such advice to people without the require knowledge to carry it out safely.
