Help! Hydaulic problem on Entec 6".

I wonder if any of you guys can help me. I got a yellow 6 inch entec, think it's the CH25 model. It's got twin feed rollers and the rollers have been getting progressively weaker and weaker when pulling in debris. The rollers are stopping now on silly little twigs! I have to keep reversing and forwarding to get the stuff through. The chipping side of things seems fine so i'm guessing it's the hydraulics. I know nothing about hydaulics! Do i need to bleed them or change the fluid..... any ideas would be very much appreciated.

A new filter is the first step. Changing to oil depends on the condition of the oil but if it hasn’t had a filter in more than 3 years it’s probably time to change both. Do the filter first. If that cures the problem swap the oil and change the filter again.

The alternative is that the pump and or motors are worn. The usual symptoms for this are the machine works well enough early on but as the oil warms up and thins performance drops off.

PS find yourself a hydraulic dealer for the filter. Way cheaper than a main agent. Get the number off the filter or take it with you.
