Ditto. Do you pick them yourself ? I always travel down once a year and spend half a day down there....

I have in the past, when time allows. But i'm happy enough to let Paul pick them for us (he has a better eye for it than me). :001_smile:

I know of one LA where a couple of senor managers used to go and select the trees for the borough.

They were very conscientious because it took them a couple of days to select half a dozen trees.

I used t work for a guy who had the contract for the xmas trees in Beckenham, SE London. He would place around 6-8 ranging from 20 ish to 35 ish feet around various location. The real PITA was his contract for Beckenham High street, 64 lamposts with 2 6' xmas trees on each post, b2b. We used to spend a couple of days just snedding one side of each tree and whittling the bottom to make sure it fit in the bracket.

Putting them up wasnt too bad and a bit of a change, but we were always told come January, that they had to be all down today as it is the 12 night... bah! 128 trees removed, chipped and the road cleared in 1 day on a busy high street! Then usually to fill up the days in early Jan, we would go and clear all the unsold stock at a garden centre... literally hundreds of trees piled up ready to chipp.:scared1:

  • 3 weeks later...

Our three came in on Tuesday. 1x 39' 1x 35' 1x 33'

Due in at 08.00 am, eventually turned up at 12.

That left us getting this beast through London to three different sites and putting them up in three hours.

And then it pissed down :mad1:

Christmas spirit deserted us this miserable day. Bah Humbug
