Stopper knot for lanyard.

Just wondering what others use, other than figure eight.

Barrel knot (half a double fishermans if you get my drift?) is my choice. Nice and compact.

 

Sometimes don't use a stopper if I'm in a dangerous mood.

A figure-eight knot may work itself loose fairly easily (depending on the type of rope). I suggest using a double overhand stopper knot, see How to tie the Double Overhand Stopper Knot

Double fishermans (well, half of it) here - nice, quick, easy, compact and reliable. And it's nice to tie a stopper knot some way in from the end. I like a good long tail on mine.

Overhand knot, heat shrink over the whole knot.

 

Or fig 8, or barrel, depending what mood I'm in.
