hi i use quickbooks from barclays as my accountant told me that it is easy to use and if you make a mistake you can put it right where as sage is a pain

After 20 yrs manual books Sage revolutionised the book keeping. Press a button and vat return done! Need some one to show you the ropes, its not as easy as some accounts packages, I get into problems when I enter data wrong, or get the vat wrong etc. But it makes the books so easy to do. I have sage support in case I get into a mess, but its not been used this year, so perhaps I should cancel it?

We use sage one which is an online system and it does everything we need. No worries about backing up and we can log in from anywhere. Even the iPhone as its browser based. Check it out. It's quick and easy to learn.

Why do you have the accountant do the vat for you? Thats the easiest part. My vat return takes me about 30 seconds. Accountant does everything else though

 

Because its part of the deal I have with him and it gives him a chance to have a look at my books every 3 months and makes small changes instead of have to spend loads of time at the end of the year.

I know quickbooks does not work with Mac but if you use the online service it will be ok I use mac I split my hard drive and have windows on part of it and OS on the other works fine.

You can get a mac verSion of sage

When you select an accounting package it is difficult to change. We use Sage and apart from price of support like it.
