at the moment I tow chip in a trailer behind my 90 due to its 3.5 tonn weight limit, however this presents the problem of having to take another landy towing a chipper. more fuel cost etc!! for a while i've been thinking of getting a landy tipper, but my dad is adiment they can't actually carry much weight does anyone know the right figure that they can leagaly carry obvs i'm aware that they can carry much more than vosa want and that the carrying weight will varry on the body weight but a figure would be good non the less??

Thanks

If you go down the Landy tipper route look for a heavy duty 110 thats probably ex utility as they have the same gross weight of a 130 at 3500kgs, a standard 110 only grosses 3050kg.

Once you have found a base vehicle get ally body made up and keep any tool box/chip box a sensible size my 130 isn't a tipper but has a tool box with lots of kit in it but can carry 1000kg so if you build a light body and small tool box you could probably get 1300-1400kg on board

in the region of 800-1200kg for a 130 tipper depending on what the tipper body is made from, how many people you are carrying and how much kit.

My old 130 was 2100kg empty (no tools, no people, full tank of fuel, no spare wheel). That had aluminium body on steel tipper chassis.

If you have a landi tipper

plated at 3.5 it would depend on

Alli or steel tipper and wot kit you where

Carrying etc.

There are lots about that have been home

Made with out helper springs and reinforced

Rear chassis at the tip point so be wary of these.

To answer your question not much over a tonne.

As you say they can carry more , with sound bushes and

Anti Roll bars from discos etc but they can sway from side

To side over weight and be a little bit hairy especially towing

A chipper, so important to have an enclosed chip box to keep

Your chips dry.

Where they are great for off road with articulation it can work

Against you on Tarmac

You will not carry as much as your trailer combo that's for sure

And you would have to do more trips so you may be no better off
