Mbtrac1300 skidder

Hello everyone, this is my first post so its a bit of a trial run! Thought there may be some other sad mb trac fans out there!

I ve just taken delivery of this one, bought the tractor as an ag spec mb and asked Alex Price to turn her into a skidder. He sourced the winches from Germany and made all the guarding from scratch, Im delighted with the results check it out!

Lovely looks good , I had the same rope ends problem and bought some wedge eye sockets for rope ends from marshals in Sussex the other day, Clarks do a bolt together thingy that I think will do the same.

Very nice. Wish i'd got an MB Trac now. Why are all MB tracs forestry cages red?

Why not crimp the ends of the cable up with one of the hooks the skidding chains fit in. Also put a few chocker sliders on the cable too.

I guess red is because most of the MBtrac equipment was from Werner

Very posh, done a good job on the guarding, just watch out for the steps- stroke fuel tanks inbetween the wheels, they tend to be a bit low if you drive the front wheels over stumps placing the steps to lodge on the stumps, sometimes buckeling them or even knocking them off.

How do you use the yellow sliders, i have not seen that type before.

Yeah all the red paint is definitely due to werner influence, mine are 10 tonners and the pull is tremendous, i'm very familiar with werner winches but these are something else.

The rope ends do want tidying up and some sliders need adding the pictures just show how she came and the knots are just fudged up for trialling really.

The yellow hooks are simple, you can just push the loop in the rope end under the butt and clip it into hook job done. Never tried them before but I like them.
