Whats the weather like near you?

Knew it was pretty bad but that's a lot of rain by any standards. My weather station has stopped working for rainfall so good to see some figures for yesterday. Might go see what the Tavy is like but probably gone back down by now.

I didn't see the tavy yesterday but I've pinched a friends photo of the weir in Tavistock from last night. jaqytypa.jpg

HI MATE why are there people so close to the river edge mate there mad thanks for the PICS jon

People are nuts! It's that, 'It couldn't happen to us.' mentality. Or they could be ww boaters, (kayakers and canoeists) having a look before launching. The rivers around here are pumping, so good paddling to be had. Don't look much like boaters though.

It's pretty safe standing there Jon. This is the highest the river gets to the path all along that stretch. I have stood there and there was a standing wave 2-3 foot higher than the path but even then no water comes out onto it. If you were there it would make more sense than looking at the photo

Thanks for posting the picture haforbes

Can you make it tonight to the Warren house Inn?

Meal with the other half & family tonight:thumbdown: if i don't got I won't hear the end of it until next Christmas! Cheers for the offer though

Winds picking up here again. I always look on here to get an idea of what's happening on the Moor weather wise Weather station - Dartcom , I think it must a bit sheltered from the wind though, always seems stronger than it says.

Not seen that one but look on here from time to time Current Weather Conditions at Haytor, Devon

Just on the edge of the moor anyway so the window forecast is pretty accurate
