landline no. forwarded to mobile?

Hi all,

I have been thinking about getting a local landline number which automatically forwards to my mobile phone, mainly to look a bit more respectable as giving out cards etc with just a mobile number doesn't encourage quite as much trust :sneaky2:

I looked into the Orange Pocket Landline deal, but they want you to have a business bank account which as a small sole trader I'm not desperate to get! And a quick google came up with lots of companies, none of the ones I looked at I'd quite trust to pay money to though...

Does anyone use such a service, and any thoughts good or bad? I don't want a physical line installed, just the number which automatically goes to my mobile.

cheers,

Joe

What you need is a virtual telephone landline number. This will forward all of your calls through to your number, and will be much cheaper than a physical landline.

Can't see what the problem with this Mr Blair. It's no different to anything else which makes you look professional, like uniformed shirts for subbies working for you...

I have a virtual landline number for my business and its great, much more calls through. I use this company:

Virtual Phone Number UK | Ghost Number | Local Number to mobile

They have been great and its not too expensive either, I really recommend them.

Edit: also why have a landline number that you won't answer because you're working? People just move on to the next company if no answer, so don't loose business.

Just to balance this and for clarity. It's perfectly possibly to redirect a physical landline through to a mobile. However unless you have an office which is staffed usually, this is pointless and not cost effective.

Also to note, I've had plenty of customers who told me they called me as they could see from my number I was local. Just look at what all the rogue traders/cowboy builders and trading standards types say to the public about mobile only firms!
