How about the Hundreds of thousands of Collonial Soldiers that fought and died on lands far away.The Sons and Daughters that never knew the Father that left for a war he knew little about,except he knew right from wrong and was prepared to do something about it.

 

Thats the attitude we need more of today.

I'm not sure were your going.....please tell I look forward to it on return from the pub!! maybe the far east?? Churchhills speaches were pretty fitting especially after the mighty Luftwaffe got smashed up bad in Oct 1940, IMO one of the defining momments that still makes me proud to be British!

I have always been proud to be british but i am also a european, as indeed is the sentiment in that speech, less we forget.

Let's not forget that there were many countries taking part in that air action against Germany, including members of the Eagle Squadron from USA and famous from 633 Squadron.

apparently the bouncing bomb was partialy developed on the BRE site (building research institute) just down the road from me.

 

Britain's have repeatedly shown that they can and will punch well above their wieght.
