This is good to hear. I pre-ordered one only to back out when all the troubles began. I'm chuffed Husqvarna seem to have sorted it out; I had high hopes this would be like the good old days of high power / weight ratios and lithe handling rocket sawdust generators.

Jon, it's like no other saw I've ever used - blows power to weight out of the water :001_smile: I really didn't expect it to be much cop and ended up doing a complete U turn (I can even overlook the starter bubble and the electrics for the time being!)

dont forget that with the 8pin drive sprocket you technically need class 3 ppe as chain speed is up at 25/mtrs/second

I must admit, having bought one without trying it first, im really chuffed to bits with mine, I wonder if the 550xp and 543xp will be as good, I must admit the 543 could well be an awesome saw and a screamer at 14500rpm!

Are you all using the standard pitch or have you changed to 3/8? Is it easy to change and what's the cost?

Standard pitch at the minute ... New bar and sprocket ... Sprocket a quid or so ,the bar depends what size .... On 3/8 I would not go over 15" ... I ran my 357 on an 18" 3/8 and it was not good I guess this saw would be the same...
