Arnos Vale Cemetary...Bristol.

 

A wonderful old wild cemetary with hundreds of self sown Ash literally bursting out of the graves. Some of these have obviously been cut and re-cut over the years to produce some fine old coppice stools. This is a place where life and death sit side by side.

I wonder though, on average they are buried 6 feet so tree roots especially Ash wouldn't get that far down, and if they did the body would have long since dissolved, Sorry to be so graphic!

Some grave sites are better kept than others, guess the families of the departed have long since died and passed on as well. Nature will win in the end.
