Climbing accident

i fell 2 foot on my neck and was in intensive care for a bit, hopefully the further you fall from the lighter the damage?

 

on a serious note though i hope hes alright!

I got the details today. The chap was roping off and the rigging anchor failed, sadly he was also anchored to the same point so fell 40ft to the ground landing on branches. Broken pelvis, no chainsaw injury.

He runs a small business and is the main climber so now he will be in a really bad place.

To protect his privacy and reputation I won't name him here as he is a professional contractor and a decent chap.

Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Never use the same anchor point as your rigging point.

 

Glad he didn't suffer any worse injuries.

saw the same thing happen only the guy luckly had his lanyard cliped round a different stem very scary to watch.

He must have been low enough to not get pulled by his line (the lump must have hit the floor with line to spare) if he had been higher, being clipped in would not have been great.
