Flippy caps on a Husky?

I've always had stihl saws and liked them.:thumbup1:

I've however bought a 346xpg and I love it. There's a few things that annoy me (the choke/starter looks far too flimsy, it fall over like a drunkard all the time and I don't like having to use tools to get to the filter:thumbdown:). I can life with all of those though, as the saw is awesome. what really naffs me off though is the tank lids, esp the oil one needs a screwdriver to open it. It may be the oil I use, I may be a limp-wristed whimp, it doesn't matter.

Has anyone ever fixed this, or has anyone ever somehow fitted "flippy caps" to a husky as I love them.

Thanks, Daniel.

tight the oil cap to just befor the oil sybol and u can open it without tools, a little tip i learned

You could always replace the caps with husky ones that used a scrench. I just finger tighten too, but sometimes one seems to need a nudge to get back off.

They have a aftermarket cap here to replace those over engineered POS stihl flippy caps. Just waiting for them to hit the market.

Exactly the same with mine, oil cap always needs a turn with the screwdriver to undo. But as to them not being tough enough, I gave mine a fairly hefty swipe with the grapple loader the other day, knocked it yards away, I jumped down thinking it would be knackered, but fortunately no damage whatsoever.

personaly i hate stihl caps especialy the oil! sodding things have dumped a tank load on my leg a few times seem shut and aint! far rather good ol' trusty screw in caps

If you put the small notch in the small slot then they never come undone, much quicker than husky screw caps:001_cool:
