What time do you start work?

Today I had a rant from an affleunt neighbour that 0830 was too early to start making "chainsaw noise". Seems reasonable to me.

get to the yard half 6ish, bit of pisstaking and banter till 7, when the boss hands over the worksheets, gear up and outa the yard by 7.15, start making noise anytime we like-half7 onwards normally, do try not make any noise before 8 on sundays

I'm up at 5.30, set off to work at 6.30, usually logged on to ArbTalk by 7am. Check e-mails etc, open up the yard and out on the road by 8am.

 

Finish work at 3.45pm Mon - Thurs and 2.45pm on a Friday, But hey, I'm local authority!

Bloomin heck i am usually working by 5:30 am - thats after i have walked the dogs etc....

 

If i am air spading down south we usually set off at12:30am get to site for 7ish, have an hour then set up do 10 hours work and get back hoe for about 12pm -- thats a long day done about 6 x a month.....

We do a 37 hour week (I'm actually doing approx 1 extra hour per day) I then claim this back at the end of the month....in the form of time off, never bother with over-time.

Alright John,

yeah we work the accumulated time off, but work 39, paid 38.

 

Find it hard to fit the time off, in covering the shortfalls within the team.

Get to the yard for 8.30 (8.45) try and finish by 4.30. Don't want to work to hard. Paper work in the evenings, but I normaly only do 4 days a week.

Being a "shopkeeper" I'm quite often in the truck at 06:00 back home usually 19:30 - 20:00 Sometimes longer days, sometimes shorter. Once did 06:30 'til 10:30 following day, two hours sleep then out again 'til 17:30 that aft!
