I just finished an oak reduction today which to be honest would of been a mare if i had DRT'd it. tight crown with a lot of die back, luckily it had a stag horn which i made use of re-directing the anchor on for 1/2 the tree, as i descended i then used another re direct to place me over the limbs. I think the bend angle would of been a burden if i had used DRT due to the friction. Yes it could of been done DRT but then im sure i would of used more energy and a few choice words from time to time.

I did get myself in wrong positions a few times but im still learning the 'new' mindset need and planning of routes for this. Love, love, love the constant and consistent friction on the line.

Hey Ian, good for you. Bet you're glad you started this thread. I keep checking in to see if that avatar gets replaced.

Had a similar job today, ash reduction with a big wide canopy and lots of drooping limbs. I put in a redirect on one side then added another as I descended to give a better line angle on the droopers. However,i had to use ddrt as I'm not currently allowed to use srt at work,i can feel how much extra energy I've used as a result of the re directs.
