Rope Wrench feedback

Recommended Posts

id say it took alot of time , effort and money on kevins part to get the rope wrench where it is now and i hope he gets a fair share of the retail price and has bought a carribean holiday home with the proceeds!!

very pleased with my rope wrench btw.

my friend made his own copy from mine seems ok.

carl.

Exactly!👍

I bought a ZK1, used it for eight months, then passed it on.

Money very well spent due to what it provided for me.

Post some pics when your done. I found that my prototypes cost me around 100$ in time and materials. Mostly time. 3 or 4 hours, trips to the hardware store etc....If you got the time and expertise than awesome! I am all about home crafted gear. I climb on a homemade harness, my rope wrench is made by Isc. The stiff tether is pretty important for good function

Just thought I would post a couple of pics of my wrench rocket setup incase anyone is interested.

Its a little fiddley but you only need a pantin, the bungee and ascender with a short footloop and a couple of snaps for hands free ascending. :001_smile:

Sweet setup BenR, like that a lot, kind of gets rid of the need for a hand acsender so theres more use of your hands when when passing a tight limb. :thumbup1:

Yea its sound. You dont need your arms to ascend so if you are next to the stem you can just push yourself off slightly. The steps are quite small compared to a frog walker but its not that difficult to clip up. Undo the ascender, unclip the small shackle and unclip from the pantin. Takes about 20secs max including putting it way in a little chalk bag. For short ascents I just use the pantin or climb the tree but for going back up to a redirect from the bottom its worth putting it on. Even for 10m its much easier and more efficient than sit standing with just a pantin.
