Cool Adam. I would do something to stiffen the top of the tether as that will stop the RW flopping down so much.

Also, I used to use a length of eye2eye but changed to tieing my own knots because I can make the hitch shorter and get less sit back.

I'm gonna get some new 6" slings and some heat wrap so see what I can musta up in regards to the floppyness of the wrench......

 

All in all I'm converted..... but is this the dark side or............?

im using a petzl sling like you at the moment and have heat shrink wrapped it but the problem is you still get flex and movement from having to attach it with a krab. the vids i have seen of stiff tethers direct to bottom krab look much better. this is the way im going to go.

Sorry pat never see your post till now, I've not done anything to the sling as of yet as I'm loving it the way it is, maybe when I get a chance to play I'll try out some different stuff but for now its ace and love it....

 

 

Everyone that's using Yale kernmaster what's it like using toothed ascenders does it fray bad or is it quite tuff?

The kernmaster gets on well with ascenders, it is however a little bouncy for a kernmantle line but not enough that it bothers me, it feels pretty nice in the hand and is fairly easy to tie knots in.
