Ok so this is what I'm going to run after abit of experimenting, got a "shorty" 65cm hitch spliced up for me by top_rope on eBay, simple distal hitch, not climbed with it yet but feels real smooth, anyone else got experience with distal? Without this forum I was thinking today, so many of us wouldn't have a clue about all this haha

I found a distel bound up on me a bit at times.. Also you end up with heaps of sitback because of the length of the legs. I use a 62-65cm cord too. super short and I use a vt or xt:001_smile:

like this.. or with one less wrap and a twist before the braid. works for me:001_smile: to be fair its bloody short

Was climbing 10 or so Ash to do bat inspections. Had non climbing bat expert so set up a base anchor so he could lower me in an emergency. 5 minutes to de-rig and set up next tree. Massive effort saver. Lovely stuff.

Yea I heard you could only get those orange and black ones in australia somewhere?? been on holiday tom?! ;)
