Climber injured

Anyone else read this on UKTC, I've copy and pasted the thread.

Chris has sustained 4 broken ribs, a punctured lung, 1 broken and 1 shattered

arm, broken pelvis, a shattered eye socket and serious head injuries. They

have removed the top of his skull to relieve pressure and blood clots and

cannot begin any surgery until he makes progress with his head injuries.

Thanks to all for your support and advice over the last few days it has been

very welcome.

A written complaint is being filed against the HSE 'inspectors' for their

innapropriate behaviour.

Anyone know anything about this? I hope the guy makes a full recovery , I send Chris and his family my sympathies..

I'm sure UKTC won't mind me copying this and posting it here, this chap needs to be included in your thoughts and prayers..

More bad news.

My company had an accident today. My friend who has 10 years experience cut

his rope and fell out of a tree sufferring serious head and bodily injuries.

He is currently in intensive care after some time in theatre. He is a solid

and dependable climber aware and made aware of the risks. He was working

for me at the time.

I will not comment at this stage as to what happened. I was not on site and

the HSE are doing their thing.

Please keep your fingers crossed for Chris Headdon.

The two guys from the HSE cracked innapropriate jokes (my anger produced

profuse apology), have adjusted their line of questioning to interrogate,

interrogate and have been told (in no uncertain terms) that when they had

stopped rubbing their hands together in glee at the chance to 'do some

research on tree surgeons' that I would glady furish them with my entire

collection of H&S info to get them started. Absolute W*****S the pair of em.

The police, ambulance and air ambulance crew as well as the staff on site

were exceptional and highly professional.

Please put a £ in the air ambulance pot.

Paul
